The above drawing used Day 11 of Jamie Beck’s Rose Month series as a reference. I have been working through each beautiful still-life, studying the shadows and compositions. This one was tough though to take that approach with such small details and instead I tried to capture the essence. Feeling comfortable to step slightly away from the exact original is something I want to continue working on. Below is the drawing in progress.
